Bob Chatam
Specializing in waterfront, historical, and southern cottage style homes, Bob Chatham is a second-generation residential designer that has been designing custom hoes for over 30 years. He has been a professional member of the American Institute for over 25 years and is a member of the National Association of Home Builders.
As an Alabama Gulf Coast native, Bob has spent years designing charming cottages all along the Gulf Coast’s beautiful landscape. His designs can be found in areas all around the country including Mississippi, Mobile and throughout the lovely small towns of Baldwin County like Fairhope and Point Clear, and extending into Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A. He gained notoriety in the 90s for his wildly popular Charleston Collection that was featured in many national architectural publications. His classic low country designs, popular for their charming country appearance and large porches and balconies, have a strong presence in Charleston, South Carolina and surrounding areas.
Bob’s creative vision for cottages and waterfront designs have led to a large collection of beachfront vacation homes and coastal cottage styles he has designed for places like Orange Beach, Alabama, Destin, Florida, and the charming seaside communities all along Scenic Highway 30A.
Working with developers in the area, Bob has been awarded the creative freedom to design entire residential communities along the Gulf Coast of Alabama. He has also designed many showcase homes in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
Our process begins with a free consultation with Bob. He will listen to your wants and needs while sketching a floor plan and elevations for your new home. By the time you leave the meeting, you will have a complete overview of the design layout and exterior style of your dream home. If you are happy with your design and would like to move forward, we then collect a deposit to begin working on your plans. Bob and his team of designers will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure that your new home is exactly what you envision.

Our company began in 2010 when owner and president, Jeff Frostholm, returned to his home area of coastal Alabama. After graduating from Auburn University with a building science degree, Jeff invested years of growing his building expertise in Atlanta at commercial contractor Beers/Skanska as well as Harcrest Homes, America’s best building company in 2001 and 2009 Atlanta home builder of the year. He now lives in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama with his wife and two sons.
Frostholm Construction is a member of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association. Jeff is currently 1st Vice President of the BCHBA and will be the 2021 BCHBA President.
